McGratton Park
McGratton Park, or “The Skateboard Park,” as my children call it, is conveniently located a few blocks up from the Courthouse Square on N. Main St.
This park is a family favorite, and has something for everyone.
First off, it’s the only designated place to skateboard in town.
The City of Weatherford upgraded the park a few years back, and not only added new playground equipment, but an area just for skateboarders, including several ramps and rails.
The best thing I like about this park, are the teen skaters who frequent the park on a daily basis. The teens are courteous to the young skaters, taking turns, and even giving pointers and encouraging them as they learn to skate. If your young ones don’t skate yet, scooters also work well in this park.
The colorful play area is designed by age group, and includes a play structure for toddlers, along with one for the older children as well.
There are also plenty of swings, a sandy play area, a large slide, and a rock climbing wall.
Adults will like this park as well.
While the children play, you can walk the track that surrounds the baseball field, and is in view of the playground.
A large basketball court is located in the back of the park, and is usually always empty when we visit. There is also a large pavilion that is available for reservations for birthdays and special events. Contact the

Directions: This park is located at 645 North Main Street. From the courthouse, so North on Main St. until you see the park on the left.
