Cartwright Park
Weatherford Texas

Cartwright Park is one of those places where you love to go, but you're not sure if you want to let everyone in on your secret.

First of all, this park, located NW of Weatherford, surrounds beautiful Sunshine Lake, and also is one of the entrances to the Mineral Wells Trailway. It is always quiet and it is a rare occasion when my children share the playground with other kids. The only people I ever see are fishermen in the marshes, and an occasional family playing in the water during the summer months.

My children love the park because of the playground equipment, and the ducks and geese that reside there. They also like riding around on their scooters on the road that surrounds the lake, because you don't see to many cars. I enjoy the lake for the scenery, and frankly, you just can't take a bad picture there! In fact, I couldn't make up my mind which photo best represented Cartwright Park, so I decided to include them all. Hope you enjoy!

Directions: Cartwright Park is located at 100 Cartwright Park Road in Weatherford. If your coming from the center of town, just take North Main St. to the stop light at 4th St., make a left on 4th (Peaster Highway)and follow it up about 2.5 miles until you see the park's sign on the left.
