The Skate Queen Has Been Sold
And Is Now Closed
It’s a sad day in Weatherford now that this wonderful icon has closed its doors for the last time. We will miss the Skate Queen, and we will especially miss Kelly Peel. The good news is that Kelly will now have the time to pursue her passion of helping children discover their talents at the Weatherford Acting Academy. Kelly will be working with her good friend, and acting coach, Twila Barnett. Twila has trained many children who have gone on to play lead rolls in many major motion pictures, including The Little Rascals and The Wedding Singer to name a few. The Skate Queen is an old-fashioned roller rink at an old-fashioned price!
This rink comes complete with a disco ball, and a friendly DJ who takes requests! There is never a dull moment, and when the lights go out the disco ball starts spinning! Smiles are wide as children and adults skate to their favorite songs, and play roller games for prizes. A full snack bar is available, along with “slow skates” so children even as small as 3-4 years old can skate and have fun too.
This is a local favorite for children’s birthday parties, which include admission, drinks, and skates for your guests. Optional Pizza or Hot Dog Parties are also available.
Overnight lock-in parties for the kids are a special treat on New Year’s and other designated holidays. Weekday hours vary by season, but weekends are always open for skating and parties. You can even rent out the
