No refined town would be complete without a local performing arts group, and the city of Weatherford Texas has a great one! Get ready for some outrageous fun in this quaint theater! The building, which was once a church, is now home to a live performing arts theater, and it couldn’t have been a better match. A well lit stage and comfortable bench seating provides a great view of the action.
Comedies are their specialty, and you are sure to get some good laughs out of these local actors. This is a non-profit group who relies heavily on local volunteers for their plays. If you like show biz, they are always looking for new talent and behind the scenes help. Children play a big part in the plays, and if you have a “ham” in your family, this would be a great outlet for their talent.
They normally perform around 7 different plays a year, and if you enjoy live theater, a season ticket is the way to go. Show times are usually at 8PM Fridays and Saturdays, and Matinee performances are at 2PM on Sundays. Tickets run $11 for adults, and $9 for children and seniors for evening performances, and $8 for matinees. They give back to the community by offering $1 discount per ticket for donations of 3 cans of food, which will be donated to the local charities.
